William Finley Refuge, Mill Hill Loop Trail 5-1-2010

Post by The Forager » May 3rd, 2010, 9:11 pm

Hello

William Finley Refuge is located 10 miles south of Corvallis. Its beautiful place to explore, with an abundance of wildlife to observe. We pretty much had this trail all to ourselves on a nice sunny afternoon. Enjoy!

Hey Forager, welcome! Very nice report; I've never even heard of this trail but it looks wonderful.

Welcome, Forager! I used to hike that area a lot, back when I was an undergraduate at Oregon State. There were only a couple developed trails then, but off-trail exploring was allowed. Obviously, lots of bird life, but there were a surprising variety of snakes -- including one rattlesnake that a friend spotted. I settled for garter and gopher snakes, myself. Nice little piece of Willamette Valley savannah.

Nice TR, we need more reports from down in that region. There's plenty to see down there but it seems we dont have many members from that area

Nice job on your first report Forager. Good to hear from folks down valley and hope to hear more from you. Excellent pics, BTW.
