Great report and photos - thanks! Decades ago I spent several summers working at Camp Baldwin, so this area still feels like home to me. Did you come up through Dufur? That stretch of road as you approach the NF boundary on down to the oak forests outside the NF is an epic place for "frost forest" photography when we have extended freezing fog events in the Columbia Basin. Road 44 can get a bit slick, but worth the adventure when those weather conditions are calling!
