A sunny day in December absolutely requires - in my mind - a south-facing hike in that sunshine. A large loop taking in Catherine Creek to Coyote Wall seemed in order. I started at the Syncline trailhead (Old Hwy 8 turnoff). Clouds gathered for the second half of the hike, but it was still balmy for the time of year. The water is flowing and muddy - big water is always muddy.

Great loop Dean. Those streams are really flowing!
Some people are really fit at eighty; thankfully I still have many years to get into shape…

Wow that's a lot of water!
In # 4, is that the trail that crosses there?

That's where you cross Catherine Creek to get to the arch and beyond, but my loop did not go that way. I took the other road that branches left just before the photo.weathercrazy wrote:In # 4, is that the trail that crosses there?
