Post by pdxgene » December 22nd, 2014, 3:40 pm

New and improved with more water!! And still the same low price... :P
Scenes from a trip on a strangely warm late December day thru the canyon at Silver Falls today...

Starting at South Falls at about 930...

Looking down on the South Fork of Silver Creek from atop the stairs at Lower South Falls..

Behind the wall of water at Lower South Falls..

Footbridge crossing over the North Fork of Silver Creek..

Lower North Falls..

Double Falls, looking like a real raging waterfall today..

Middle North Falls..

The sun was making nice rays thru the trees. Here it was actually lined up at the right angle... :D

North Falls..

Spray pool below North Falls. Probably not a good day to be down there I'd imagine..

Winter Falls...

Finishing up with Christmas at the Lodge .. They always do a really nice job of decorating..
Image

Usually there a fire roaring inside but since it felt more like late spring than the beginning of winter they didn't really need one today...
Image

A few scattered hikers along the way until the usual throngs at the very end on just a great late December day. :D

Happy first full day of winter! More like these please...

Hey, you too!
Too bad the snow level wasn't dipping just a bit lower. That'd be a great place to spend a white Christmas day...
