I had a very similar plan as you did yesterday Tom.

Was driving up to Lolo Pass to hike the PCT northbound when I saw the clouds billowing over the pass.
I turned around and hiked up to Devils Peak instead. It was a gorgeous bluebird day over there.

I could see loads of clouds to the north & south though. Hood acted like a waterbreak of sorts

Awesome pictures Tom! I managed to get a few before the fog rolled over the mountain. I heard the target shooters from down on the Sandy...you're right, wouldn't have made for a peaceful day getting a tree. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for the nice comments! :)

@Q - did you hike the Cool Creek Trail? I haven't done that one in years - it totally kicks my butt, so I will sheepishly admit to making my car suffer the Abbott Burn Road (to the easier trail) so that I don't have to suffer the Cool Creek Trail…

Tom :)

Yes indeed. I did the out and back hike up the Cool Creek Trail.
Its a steep one indeed. The climbing never ends.
The trail is in very good shape. Only a few downed tree's to negotiate.
Not much snow at all either.
