5 day custom loop in October on the Sol Duc-Elwha-Hoh Divide. Having the goal of photographing and fishing the Olympic Mountain wildlife. Well as enjoying plush autumn colors in the Olympic alpine.

I backpacked a couple days over the 4th of July last summer around the Seven Lakes basin. I absolutely loved it, saw my first wild Black Bear, and also caught a trout in Lunch Lake. It was popular, but if you were smart, you could find solitude. It was fun swimming in the lakes in the heat of summer, but I imagine your visit wasn't quite so warm. No bugs, though which is a plus. They were plentiful as well in summer. The little kind that fly directly into your eyes! Great choice for a fall backpack!
