I would be remiss if I did not join into the chorus of thanks for the work you both have done out on the Tanner Creek trail. I had occasion to pass through there over the course of the year on several occasions and the transformation over even just a few years ago is remarkable. Without having to focus on staying on route I really noticed what a beautiful place it is on sunny days with all the little water crossings as it winds along after the Tanner Cutoff junction. Well done and much appreciated. Certainly an inspiration to me and I am sure others to lend a hand out there.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the work and I really appreciate this trail as a fall back when I want no crowds and low elevation gain. Both things being semi rare in the gorge.

Sean, you and Jojo are rock stars! I was the grateful beneficiary of your previous work on the Tanner Creek trail when I did the Hatfield Route a couple summers ago.

Right, and then this agency closes the trails it fails to maintain for the "lack of use"But in a world where one has to pay for a parking pass(where the funds are supposed to go towards maintaining trails) just so one can park legally and do trail maintenance on their own time, all while the agency that is charging for the pass also gets upset that one is even attempting to do the work
Great work, Sean and Jojo - it's not only making it safer and more enjoyable to hike, but it's now much more likely to stay open in the long run.

"But in a world where one has to pay for a parking pass(where the funds are supposed to go towards maintaining trails)"
Actually, the law says the funds first have to go towards outhouse, garbage pick-up, and picnic table. If there are any funds left over, they can go towards trail maintenance.
They need to change the law.
The Forest Service is just following it and when they tried to use common sense, they got sued and the court forced them to follow it.
Uh oh, thread drift...
