I have done this hike numerous times, but it's always a favorite for it's great views, including fall colors and it's easiness!
This hike is just about 700' elevation gain and 4 miles RT.
The weather was changing, so I wasn't sure if I was going to go hiking, but I knew I could sneak this one in when the day started like this:
Tipsoo Lake
Most of the wildflowers are done, though I found a few small ones along the way.
Anenome
It's a very open trail, especially on the north side
Small tarn
Originally I had planned to drop down to Dewey Lakes, but with the incoming clouds, and the fall colors not really robust yet, I decided to save that for my trip in a couple of weeks.
I did drop down a little bit on that trail, and enjoyed some great huckleberries!
No animals to be seen, but heard plenty of elk bugling.
This is after the Dewey Lakes Trail. You get a head on view of Rainier.
Soon after arriving back to my car, the long awaited clouds...parted.
Most of the rest of the day was in the sun DOH! I had anticipated increasing clouds, so I hiked early.
The next day featured just what I was expecting, fog and mist. Still, made for great pics
Fireweed
Things were decidedly moody

Loving all your Rainier TRs, Tyler! Those macros of the fireweed are incredibly stunning.

Keep in mind this trail is inaccessible due to snow from about the second week in October through maybe the early part of June or July!
