Another stellar TR, Sean! Those shaggy mane mushrooms are great, and that shot of the two goats with the backlighting is excellent.

Awesome pictures Sean! Such a great area to have all to yourselves.....well minus the natives. ;) You seem to find mountain goats on a lot of your trips. I only seem to find the rustygoats around town. Those mountain goats like the views up high better than at the lower waterfalls.

It is sad to hear about the loss mass of Lava Glacier. Melinda has been doing a lot of research for different projects at school and lately she has been studying shrinking glaciers. It's crazy how our general area mountains have been affected over the past century. Great pictures of it. Thanks for sharing Sean! :)

Sean, your TR inspired me so much that, on Saturday, I hiked up to your tarn with my dog and spent the night there. What a great spot! Much thanks for introducing me to it. Had a few sprinkles Saturday night, but Sunday morning's rosy dawn on the mountain was just lovely. And there were hardly any bugs. Meanwhile, down at Foggy Flat, on the way out this morning I counted 7 tents in the meadow (a no-no, of course). So it was great to be up in spot with just me, Scout, and the mountain.

Since I'm betting yours is the first TR on this place, I think that gives you naming rights to the tarn. So is it going to be Sean's Tarn, or maybe Joie's Tarn?

Here are a few shots:

That is such a wonderful feeling, especially when the world in front of you is so beautiful. Great sunrise! Thank you for sharing.

I always wonder where you will find goats next. :)
