According to this brochure we picked up from the Detroit Ranger Station some years back, if you're within 250 feet of one of the lakes you have to camp within 15 feet of a post. More than 250 feet away and you can camp where you like. But still no campfires.

Ahh, Jeff Park. Your pictures make me want to go back again, even with the skeeters and crowds.
Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again.

Nice pictures (again). The ones from Park Ridge are almost as nice as mine
Not only does your photo session bring back memories, but it appears we have now shared the same piece of ground with our tents. At least that sure looked like the same designated site on the south side of Russell Lake.

You took some beautiful pictures! The light is so good. We have found some nice fairly private sites along Russel Lake - I don't know if they are now among the designated ones. This was prior to designation I believe. Jefferson Park is great in September after the bugs are gone We went once in 2011 (high snow year) when it was 95% snow covered and there were still lots of skeeters! Snowsquitoes?

Really beautiful pictures. This goes to the top of my list for next summer. Or September!
