Well, it was a two day trip but all the pictures are from a pretty full day yesterday. Today it rained so I bailed pretty early. I got enuf done for both days yesterday anyway. There's probably way too many pictures and everyone knows where these places are (if not, just ask..) so I'll keep the narrative to a minimum..
Starting at Lower Proxy Falls around 9a (i started early and drove fast. )
Moving on to Upper Proxy Falls..
Looking down Upper Proxy Falls..
Along the McKenzie River Trail to the Blue Pool...
Blue Pool..
Looking down on the McKenzie River heading back from the Blue Pool..
Sahalie Falls..
The McKenzie River leaving Sahalie Falls..
Sahalie Falls..
The McKenzie River along the Waterfalls Trail..
Koosah Falls..
Clear Lake from the Three Sisters viewpoint on the trail, no view today..
3,000 yr old preserved tree stump on the bottom of Clear Lake..
Wind rippling the surface of Clear Lake..
Great Spring, source of Clear Lake..
Continuing on the trail around the lake..
Where the maples in the lava are starting to turn red..
My campsite for the night, especially nice in thunderstorms and rain..
Enjoying the late afternoon/early evening sun on Clear Lake..
Kayak shadow on the bottom of the lake next to one of those 3,000yr old tree stumps..
And then the storm clouds began moving in..
A bit of a rainbow begins to form..
Rays of light hit the rainbow..
And all of a sudden it gets much brighter and picks up a double..
The rainbow faded and I turned around to the north to see the fading light do this..
It's pretty much a fools game to try and shoot lightning on autofocus but I did get one decent shot..

Nice! Those blues in the water up there are always so stunning. I've had to tell people that yes, the water is really that blue. The greens of the deep forest contrast nicely.
"What does it mean??"And all of a sudden it gets much brighter and picks up a double..
