Paintbrush was in full bloom in the upper meadow on 7/20. You can see them in the background of the picture of my wife relaxing on the rocks. Here is a crop from another photo.

I don't remember seeing any lupine in the upper meadow. I had to go back and look at all my pictures to see where it was blooming. This photo was taken a few hundred yards away from the intersection of the spur trail up to the meadows and the Jack Lake loop trail.

Pardon the blurriness, but I cropped this from a picture of one of the kids so the flowers weren't in focus. It is the best I have of the lupine. It looks to me like it was just starting to bloom. Do those look like un-bloomed buds to you too? Or could they be post-bloom seed pods?

Just a note that the Minto Pass TH is not where Garmin maps place it but about .38 mile north. The good news is that somebody has done a lot of log clearing through to Wasco Lake. The cuts look very recent (as of July 27, 2014)
