Thanks so much for the inspiration and beta on this loop. Did it this past weekend and it was magnificent. The off trail to crystal lake and the other small lakes up there is well worth the trip. PCT is completely melted out from Rd 23 to Riley creek. Patchy snow as you round the mountain to the north. Only went 2-3 miles past the Riley Trail before turning around to make camp at Riley Creek. Used halfmiles PCT maps which worked pretty well for their scale. Saw 2 PCT SOBOs-Good Luck!

Glad it worked out. That's a nice site next to Riley Creek.

I've heard some bad reports about mosquitoes up there. How was it for you?

They are alive and well. Not bad when moving, never took out the headnet, but once stopped in camp or hanging by the lakes they find ya.
