Always looking for new trails and the high desert offers its natural beauty... This little 5 mile trail holds amazing views for a small amount of effort.

The trail starts at one of the campgrounds and heads up hill fairly rapidly...offering immediate views of Lake Billy Chinook...

Barely a mile into the hike you crest the ridge and you are treated to outstanding views of the surrounding area including Mt Jefferson, Three Sisters, Washington and more...

As you make the three mile loop on top of the plateau desert wild flowers abound.. bring your sunscreen...;)

Such views from the top! When we camp at Cove Palisades, my husband does this little trail as his wake up hike each morning. It's his defense against all the good food we eat while camping. :D
