Siver star 11/24/13

Post by Roy » November 25th, 2013, 6:55 pm

Yesterday my hike up Silver star was a treat for late November what a Day. Interesting temperature fluctuations from the time I left home till I sat in a balmy 60 degrees on top and not a breath of wind. I was hoping for a mid Nov opening to the ski season but this weather is nice.

Is It late Nov?

It seemed way to warm for the ice clinging to the rocks.

A haze was in the air and Hood was the only peak showing off a bit

Guy and friends are in those hills somewhere.

Sturgeon rocks North face looks like a mini Eiger.

Its hard to remember a late April trip on a day like this.

Hope every one got a chance to enjoy this weather.

Glad to see you got out for another awesome hike, Roy. Those shots of Hood and Sturgeon Rock are really nice.

I went up on Monday and it was virtually the same! Cold down in the shade and forest below, sunny and mild with no wind at the summit! I asked myself the same thing, is this November? Late November?

The only issues I found where were the creek flows down the trail to the north of Pyramid Rock...frozen solid!

That was slippery stuff I tiptoed thru there.
