So how many chances do you get to hike in 45 degree weather in August
Today was one of them, at least the Trillium Lake part of the hike to finish things off. Once past Meadows at 9am the sun was shining bright and feeling warm. In the 60's for the Tamanawas falls part of things. Acutally it would have worked out much better with the cold and fog around the falls and the sunny blue sky at Trillium but oh well... Joan had never hiked around Trillium Lake on the trail, just skiied and snowshoed in winter and I had never been to Tamanawas Falls so we opted for the shorter drive today, save the next marathon for next week.. Photo descriptions here from a really foggy and cold drive, then a sunny and warm hike, then foggy and cold again at Trillium http://picasaweb.google.com/pdxgene/TrilliumLake23 Off we go...

Nice patch of flowers up at Tamanawas, Gene - cool!
I've never hiked the Trillium loop. I'll have to do that one of these days -- haven't even been to the lake in two or three years for a photo!
Thanks for posting!
