Four of us headed on up the Boulder Lake Trail to Bonney Meadow and Bonney Butte today. It's about 4 miles each way and 1,600' or so elevation gain. They had red tailed and sharp shinned hawks for release today. We even found that the sharpies like to have their tummies rubbed. And even snapped a picture of their resident owl. Three Sisters were visible and Mt Jefferson was nice and clear under bright sunny skies. Just another great bonus add-on summer day. Starting at Boulder Lake..

Hello Gene,
Coincidentally, I just posted a Field Guide entry today for Bonney Butte although I describe a different route. I also linked to three of your posts on this place, including this one.
Offer: If you send me your three best pictures (I really like the red-tail from last year), I will immortalize you by using them in Field Guide entries.
John
