An afternoon dash up Angels Rest - 01/15/12

We decided to make a quick dash up Angels Rest this afternoon, it had snowed on & off all morning at home so we figured we wouldn't have to go too much higher to find a bit more! We set off just after 12:00 & the weather was quite benign.

Snow started in earnest at about the 800' level.



The Sun almost came out a few times & we had high hopes of a view from the top but it wasn't to be! About the time we reached the rock field the wind picked up & it started snowing sideways!



No going back though baring in mind the Family Moto...

We made our way around to the bench for a quick cup of hot tea before heading down again..

The weather improved again as we left the summit & we even got a few views of the river as we hiked back down.



Back that the trailhead we thought we would stop at the Vista House for a quick coffee but were disappointed to find it closed so we took a few more pics & then headed for home!

Its Sony Magic! I forget what they call it but it allows you to take panos by just panning your camera over the landscape for up to 270 degrees. Very cool especially for a lazy photographer like me :^)..

Is that the new A77 or the A55. What do you think of them? They seem like nice cameras just haven't used the new ones yet.

No it's fixed lens HX1 about a 3 year old model. Sony have recently released it 's replacement the HX100 with a lot more bells & whistles! I think they ave put that 'Sweep Panorama' mode on most of their cameras now.

We can't take credit for the Snow Man he was already perched on the wall when we pulled into the parking space in front of him!
