Snowing at Mud Lake:)

Post by Thum » January 14th, 2012, 7:59 pm

I hiked up to Mud Lake today in hopes of a front row seat to the coming snow. I originally planned on Chinidere Mtn but my overwhelming laziness by the mud intersection and the lack of views made the lake an easy choice :)

My guess is that there was plenty of mud on the trail just below the snow line.

How high was Herman Creek at the crossing just before Noble?

I LOVE that pic of the crooked trail through the trees!

Thanks reckless, the giant cedars like the ones in that picture are my favorite part about the herman creek trail. :)

drm - the mud wasnt too bad early on but there were some sections that were pretty sloppy. The stream crossings werent too bad and the east fork at the crossing near noble camp wasnt bad at all. there is a log upstream that runs almost entirely across the creek that I always cross on tho. here's a pic of the log:
