Not sure if anyone has posted this yet....

A nice way to let people know where you are going and when you plan to return from hikes/backpacking trips, etc. And it's FREE!!!

Not sure how this is an improvement on the system where I tell my wife where I'm going and when I'll be back.

Great site. My first thought (due to my background) was about security - letting people know that you're NOT home. But reading further I saw that you give your trip info to trusted friends, who use a 'trailnote ID' code to check your status.

So from briefly reading the info, it's free? I wonder how they manage the expenses? I saw that they sell t-shirts and hats. Maybe the merchandise offsets the cost.

It's probably free until they suck you in and then they add other features! :) Either way, I think it's pretty cool. I like that you can make your trip private or public.

And I bet TrailNote doesn't ask you to take the trash to the curb on your way out.

TrailNote would like to welcome everyone from PortlanHikers.org that have signed up with TrailNote. If anyone has any questions about the service we would be happy to answer them.

Hike safe, everyone!
