Very few bugs at Burnt Lake yesterday. A few mosquitoes higher up in the forest on the way up to East Zig Zag.

Bugs are OK right now on Timberline Trail out to Paradise Park.

As dusk sets in, more come out, but they aren't biting much.

Bees are out and buzz around you, but otherwise ignore you.

Great news on Paradise Park. In 2 weeks I would assume they will be done. Fingers crossed.

There's still a lot of snow up there at PP. Might they still be waiting to hatch?

Up on top of Observation Peak (Trapper Ck Wilderness) there were flies and mosquitoes - not the worst I've ever had it there, but I did apply DEET to be able to hang out in the sunshine.

We were at Upper Twin Lake Saturday afternoon and Sunday before the storms came in. There were a fair bit of flies and virtually no mosquitos. We had a Thermacell out during dinner to keep our toddler bug free, and my wife and I sprayed a little Cutter on our clothes. The boy and I ended up with no bites and the wife only got one. :)
Both gold and muck come out of the same shaft.

I was in Paradise Park a couple weeks ago - no bugs - snow just melting off

I bet in two weeks there will be quite a few, make sure and bring protection

A fair number of mosquitoes on the west side of Mt Adams, Riley Creek Trail. Mid- to upper-altitudes. Expect it to get worse before it gets better.
