Hiked Wildcat Mountain and South Fork Mountain this week.

South Fork Mountain: What flies I did see were not interested in myself or the wife. There were honeybees hovering around flowers, which was nice to see. Surprisingly, Memaloose Lake had no bugs of note either. I was expecting mosquitos, especially since we hung around for a few minutes.

Wildcat Mountain (via. McIntyre Ridge): No bugs of interest at all in the sun or shade.

Plenty of mosquitoes at North Lake in the shade - until a breeze came up.

as others have pointed out, mosquitoes were atrocious in Bull of the Woods this weekend. Swarmed at the Pansy Lake TH, although not many in the evening. Eaten alive in the morning and throughout our hike up to the lookout

Got over two dozen bites this weekend hiking the Waucoma Lakes Loop (http://www.portlandhikersfieldguide.org ... _Loop_Hike).

There were quite a few mosquitos everywhere, but they were particularly bad at Mud Lake, Wahtum Lake, Rainy Lake, and especially the Rainy-Wahtum Trail (since we were getting close to dusk).

Trapper Creek Wilderness = bugs out, not a lot. No mosquitoes biting. However, this was midday (12noon - 5pm).
