What exactly were you hoping for? Those are amazing!
Ha!
Thanks!
I was hoping for the moon to be further to the left, so I cannot figure out how to get TPE to correct of elevation on the horizon... basically I was thinking the moon would have risen closer to Hood from that angle...so the composition was a compromise. Oh well, we have two more over the next 60 days or so!

Cool lighting shots. Hopefully you were in a safe place.

Ya nice lightning shots! Yesterday was the first time I came in from taking video because the lightning was so close. I found out a friend was nearly hit yesterday near Truman in Vancouver.

I was not there for that...and all I have is some thunder clips. I was actually out photographing a wedding. Pretty intense how close the lightning was. Luckily for the ceremony it was completely dry and storm free.
The bride and groom both met years ago on a day with storms, and they both love lightning, so it was fitting.
Here is a close strike I recorded back in 2008 in Hazel Dell. (Turn the sound up!)

Nope, it was shot with an HD camcorder, though the quality of the video sucks on youtube.
Check out Dan Robinson on Storm Highway...he has amazing recording equipment (both audio and video).
