Surprised by good food

Post by happilyretired » March 16th, 2024, 3:10 pm

After the short hike today, we were driving through Oakridge and decided to stop at The Campfire for lunch. I'd seen their sign out front promising vegan, keto, gluten-free options, so it seemed like an OK place for two vegans to grab a bit. Frankly I was expecting the usual "we can put a frozen-and-thawed Beyond Burger patty in a bun" option, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The food (a one-pound burrito for my companion, a rice-and-beans "TexMex" bowl for me) was very good, the portions were ample, the prices were reasonable ($30 pre-tip for both of us). Chatting with the owner on our way out, she basically said they'd veganize anything on the menu. Given the amount of hiking I've been doing in the Oakridge area, I expect I'll be back.

This is good to know, thanks for the info! Sometimes hard to find vegan options outside of the bigger cities. Will stop next time we go through.
