*ALERT Silver Star via Ed's Trail

Post by weathercrazy » January 20th, 2015, 10:43 am

There is a two tree blockage on the 4109 road to Ed's Trailhead.

I estimate the diameter to be 7-8" or so. I did not have the means to clear it so I was forced to turn around (I suppose I could have walked the 2 miles up the road)

I would be very interested to hear if anyone on here either clears it themselves or knows when it becomes clear so I can get back up there. I don't own a chainsaw that would take care of that tree haha.

On another note, I can't believe how much things have changed there with all of the logging! Wow! Every time I go up it's different.

UPDATE:

My friend Phil Delaney drove up today with this chainsaw and cleared the trees!

He did mention the road is as bad as he's ever seen it though.

Your friend is awesome, Tyler. Thanks for checking back! Crazy to think of hiking a snow-free SS this time of year!

Great that your friend took care of this - thanks for posting. I agree, the road is unusually bad right now. All bets are off for most cars, though very careful navigating should get the job done if you have decent clearance. I tossed the chain saw in the trunk and think that's a good place for it to stay for the rest of the season!
