Didn't get to hike this weekend...

The purpose of this forum is to help people identify things they've seen while out hiking: wildflowers, trees, birds, insects, small animals, animal tracks, even geographical features like buttes or streams

I do have one question, I know most of the mountains in this picture but there is one mountain/hill I am unfamiliar with and I marked it as unknown. Any one know the name of it?

Just to through my 2 cents in, the Olallie Butte that I know, is N of Jeff.

I think that this is Trout Creek Butte. From Bend, Black Crater is behind Trout Creek Butte. In this picture, there is just flat land then hill. The sharp bump to the left has to be Millican Crater. http://www.listsofjohn.com/PeakStats/QM ... &t=t&P=300 zoom out a couple more clicks and you will see Bend & Mt Washington.

From the position of the Middle Sister relative to the North Sister, I think the photo was taken 8 or 10 miles (at least) north of Bend. I still think its Black Crater- but I could be wrong.... :)

I think Don is correct about Black Crater, I looked at this area in Google Earth trying to match up the spot where the photo was taken - the little peak just to the south would be Millican Crater.

Yeah, I'm probably wrong. I'm more used to looking at it from another angle. Hmmm...
