Are these dwarf red whortleberries?

They were delicious!

Plants were 6-8 inches tall, grew in colonies in the Willamette National Forest (found them on this hike). Berries were small (1/4" diameter), sweet, and tart.

Yup. Vaccinium scoparium. I found lots of them a couple weekends ago on the trail up to Mt. Thielsen.

They look like red huckleberries, which are delicious :)
