It might not be a trail sign but it was on....or should I say under the trail. This was Under the Diamond Mill Bridge on the Wilson River. What a great fishing seat!

Re: Funny Trail Signs....
I liked this editorial comment at the top of the Starvation Cutoff trail:
(Really not that bad coming up -- just down go DOWN it..!)
This isn't a "sign" in the formal sense, but definitely "A SIGN" to all who are heading onto the dirt portion of Cloud Cap road:
I've always wondered if it simply happened to fall off some poor hiker's car at this point on the way down, or whether they placed it here as fair warning to those who would follow..?

Re: Funny Trail Signs....
Not a trail sign, but a road sign, courtesy of the Wyoming Highway Department which evidently can't decide on the length of winter. This is is the road to a major trailhead (Big Sandy Openings) in the Wind River Range.
Taken from the beginning of the Lander Cutoff Road at South Pass, southern end of the Wind River Range in the background.
Having grown up in Wyoming, I'll go with the top sign. Blizzards in May are not uncommon, either! It's said that Wyoming has three seasons, July, August and Winter.

Alligator sign link. I couldn't copy the photo so I put in this link. Smart gators.
Summer breezes caressed me, my legs stepped forward as though possessed of their own appetite, and the mountains kept promising. Rebecca Solnit
