Pablo's Pond aka El lago de Pablo on Saturday 1/31

Post by Don Nelsen » January 29th, 2015, 7:03 pm

I was going to do this one today but saw that there was still a fair amount of fog and mist in the eastern gorge so opted for a Devil's Rest/Primrose loop today.

So, anyone interested in checking out the lake Pablo documented in his recent report?

Leave from the Herman Cr. TH, ascend the PCT to the NE edge of the Benson Plateau and bushwhack a short distance to the lake, take some photos and head back - or - take a victory lap around the Benson and check out the two seasonal lakes on the plateau. About 4k vertical, somewhere between 11 and16 miles. (I'd get up early for this, if I absolutely have to)

RSVP,

I can drive and take four passengers, meet at where ever convenient- preferably the Tri-Met park-and-ride in Gateway.

Oops - some friends from out of town called and I need to be back too soon to do the hike tomorrow. Maybe next weekend?

I'll do a recliner hike along the old RR grades on Larch instead - I can do that and be back in time.

Bushwhack on the plateau sounds splendid. And a victory lap even better.
