Hi all!

I'm newly registered to this forum but I've been a user of the site for quite some time.

I am an avid hiker (backpacking) and I have been since my early days as a boy scout. I've had all these grand dreams of the wonderful places that I would hike but it seems that I only get out on a big trek once or twice a year. My wish list of hikes keeps growing but my opportunity to hike them is too limited. So I turned to trail running.

Now I get out just about every Saturday and run a trail. For example, last Saturday the 24th I ran Silver Falls State park along the perimeter trail and the trail of ten falls for a total of about 22 miles. Got it done in about 4 hours. And I was able to check another trail off my wish list. I otherwise would have never had the opportunity to complete this loop due to my busy schedule and limited vacation time.

I still get out backpacking and mountaineering at least once a year.

Welcome, Bart. There are several trail runners here, so you'll get some trip ideas tailored to trail running (especially in the Gorge).
