Lewisville Park, WA - nice day-outing for families

Posted by Jane (2006-09-09)
Labor Day I headed to Lewisville Park, just past Battleground, for an afternoon of picnincing, wandering the trails, and reading and relaxing in the shady grass. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be, and a great, near-by destination fora last minute picnic!

Lewisville Park, WA

This is the oldest regional county park (Clark County.), established in the 1930s. There are 154 rustic acres of forest and meadows bordering the Lewis River, with a 3-mile trail system meandering throughout the park. Activities abound including: swimming, fishing, picnicking, and horseshoes. There are softball, baseball and soccer fields, playgrounds, and restrooms located throughout the park. In addition there are 13 reservable log picnic shelters and 3 reservable mini-sections without shelters. However, many picnic areas without shelters are available in a variety of locations within the park on first-come, first served basis. For reservations or additional information, see the Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Web site,(360) 696-8041. No kidding!  We were there the same day!  In fact, I'm wondering if that's me with two of my boys in the middle of the river in your last picture?

It is a very nice park (and quite large) indeed!
