Okay, so hour walks on the sand is NOT hiking...but it IS summer now, so going to the beach is "IN"....especially when you can get PAID for it! I scored a part-time summer job for two days a week (consecutive, stay overnight in arranged accomodations) in Cannon Beach ,OR. ... I have to work most of the day hours indoors (and avoid the already jammup of tourists), but can squeeze in the sunset strolls...and the early morning beach walks (I don't know what time the sun rises, but 7am is early enough for me! Hopefully my schedule may allow for some hikes in the area, such as in Ecola State Park at least. http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_188.php .
